What you need
- A phone, tablet or computer with a working camera and microphone
- A steady internet connection and a quiet space with good lighting
- A current government photo ID
- Your document as a PDF
- Every signer present on camera
Identity verification and security
Identity is confirmed before anything is signed. Depending on the platform and the transaction, this can include scanning your ID and answering identity questions. Sessions run on a secure platform, and records are kept as Illinois law requires.
Is my document eligible?
Many documents can be notarized electronically, but some courts, county recorders, government agencies and foreign authorities still require a paper original with ink signatures. Before booking, ask whoever will receive your document whether they accept electronically notarized documents. If they do not, book a mobile notarization instead.

Questions about electronic notarization
Is electronic notarization legal in Illinois?
Yes. Illinois commissions Electronic Notaries Public to perform electronic and remote notarizations under state law. Our Electronic Notary Public commission is issued by the Illinois Secretary of State.
Can I sign from outside Illinois?
Often, yes, but it depends on the document and where it will be used. Text us the details first and we will confirm before you book.
What if my ID will not verify?
Make sure the ID is current, clean and photographed in good light. If verification still fails, we can schedule a mobile appointment instead.
Can multiple people sign in one session?
Yes. Each signer must appear on camera and complete identity verification. Additional signers are quoted up front.
